Message from the Superintendent
Dear Members of the Baldwin School Community,

The Baldwin County School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. BCSD joins 476 school districts across the country in receiving this prestigious award in 2016, out of the nation’s 13,515 school districts. The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

Only six school districts in the state of Georgia were selected to receive this honor: Atlanta Public Schools, Baldwin County, Clarke County, Cobb County, Fulton County Schools, and Gwinnett County.  Now in its 17th year, BCME recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who work together to ensure access to music learning for all students as part of the curriculum.

I would like to thank the Board of Education for their strong support of the arts and our music teachers: Ryan Murrell, Ethan Owens, Christie Edwards, Danigella Battle, Brad Bell, Enid Smith, Thomas Brown and Kathryn Poff for their hard work and contributions in helping Baldwin County achieve the honor of being named one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the nation. I believe that our fine arts program provides our students with a well-rounded education and is a model for the State of Georgia.

Sincerely,
Dr. Noris Price
Superintendent
