Georgia High School Graduation Test Is Eliminated Effective Immediately!

On Monday, March 30, 2015, Governor Nathan Deal signed House Bill 91 into law. This law provides that students shall no longer be required to earn a passing score on any graduation tests to earn a high school diploma. The law also contains additional details and requirements regarding the ability of students no longer enrolled to petition the local board of education for a diploma and a requirement for local school systems to advertise the availability of this opportunity for students whose sole reason for not receiving a high school diploma was due to not passing any part of the graduation tests.

Attached are the procedures that must be followed when a request is made by a petitioner to receive their high school diploma. The Petition form (click here for a copy) is available at the high school and the Baldwin County Board of Education. Please contact the Baldwin High School counselors if you have questions. Thank you!

Message from Superintendent Dr. Noris Price

Dear Parents and Guardians,

It’s time once again to take the Georgia School Parent Survey, as part of each school’s College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI) scores. The survey results will be used to assign a School Climate Star Rating to each school. If you have more than one student in our district, you will need to complete a survey for each school. The deadline for the survey is April 30, 2015.
The Georgia School Parent Survey results are confidential and will not be made public. The survey is located here:
http://a pps.gadoe.org/schoolclimate/parents.nsf/Survey.xsp

Thank you in advance for your participation.

Sincerely,

Noris Price, Ed.D.

Ms. Jones received three separate nominations from three of her students: Andrea Turner, Johntavious Roberson, and Cameron Brooks. In the nomination forms, one of Ms. Jones's students loves the way that Ms. Jones "keeps it real", works hard and brightens the day of all of her students. One student appreciates how Ms. Jones pushes the students in her class to do better and be the best they can be. She is noted as engaging students in learning in a fun way and being an all-around good person. Thank you Ms. Jones for inspiring students and for being an example of excellence!
